Services are scheduled Monday (Nov. 11) for Kenneth E. Gernenz, Strategic Account Manager for Industrial Climate Control at Sunbelt Pump & Power Services in Conyers, GA.

Mr. Gernenz, 53, died Nov. 4, 2013, in Suffolk, VA.

A native of Joliet, IL, Mr. Gernenz was a seasoned professional with more than 24 years of experience in the temporary climate and humidity control industry. His broad knowledge of moisture-related issues made him a key member of each team with whom he worked.

Colleagues called Ken Gernenz a seasoned professional who always offered a helping hand.

He had held several leadership positions over the past two decades, including positions with Munters Moisture Control Services, Polygon US Corp. and, most recently, Sunbelt Pump & Power Services.

Colleagues recalled Mr. Gernenz as always ready to lend a helping hand. He was often called on to lead teams that responded to natural disasters, including floods and hurricanes, during his career. Most recently, he provided technical support for dehumidification projects following Hurricane Sandy.

Friends and colleagues said that helping people was part of Mr. Gernenz's nature.

In his spare time, Mr. Gernenz enjoyed attending NASCAR races, traveling, and training his dogs. His passion was his family, particularly his daughter, Angela Gennett; son, Stephen Gernenz; and granddaughter, Madyson Gennett, all of Orlando, FL.

Mr. Gernenz is also survived by his mother, two sisters, a niece, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and his dog Max.

Arrangements are under the direction of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, in Apopka, FL.
