Larson Electronics has introduced a two-foot-long explosion-proof light fixture for paint booths and other hazardous locations with the potential for flammable vapors.

The Magnalight EPL-24-192 Explosion Proof Fluorescent Light Fixture is an eight-lamp, U.S./Canada U.L.-approved Class 1 Division 1, Class II Division 1 and suitable for locations where space is at a premium and flammable chemical and petrochemical vapors may exist.

This fixture is multi-voltage capable and is U.L. approved for use in paint spray booths. Larson also recommends the unit for oil rigs and boats.

The unit retails for $1,742.50.

Features and Characteristics

The T6 temperature-rated fixture, constructed of copper-free aluminum alloy, comes standard with F24-T5/HO lamps that are protected by heat- and impact-resistant Pyrex tubes. The lamp reflectors are corrosion-resistant heavy-gauge aluminum, coated with a high-gloss reflective finish.

Larson calls the unit compact, reliable and affordable.

The unit's standard configuration is the bracket end mounting shown. A pendant mount  is also available to suspend the fixture away from the ceiling surface.

The fixture also comes in an LED version.
