Valspar Launches Improved Coil Coating

Valspar has announced a new weather-resistant coil coating system for metals used in a variety of applications.

WeatherXL, the next generation of the company's WeatherX, is a silicone-modified polyester coating made to resist chalking and fading.

Valspar's WeatherXL, a silicone-modified polyester coil coating system, offers improved application properties, the company says.

The coating is designed for color and gloss retention, with improved application properties that can contribute to faster line speeds, quicker curing and less edge blistering, depending on application conditions, the company says.

WeatherXL is formulated with an "enhanced silicone polyester resin system" for commercial and residential metal roofing, agricultural and industrial buildings, metal wall panels, and other applications.

The product is available in a variety of colors and Solar Reflective formulations, to help meet Energy Star and LEED qualifications, according to Valspar.

New Website Launched

The company has also launched a new website,, to provide customers with information on WeatherXL and other extrusion coatings manufactured by Valspar.
