A new access platform from Safway Group offers a high speed-to-capacity ratio and allows workers to adapt to corners and angles, the company says.
The SafRise Climber has a platform that can conform to angles and curves and ascend 30 feet per minute with heavy live loads, giving it "the highest speed-to-capacity ratio on the market," according to Chad Baumgartner, the leader of Safway's Motorized Division.
The new SafRise Climbers offer single- and twin-mast options and can ascend at 30 feet per minute while carrying a live load, the company says.
The single-mast option has a live load capacity of 8,000 pounds and spans 50 feet; the twin-mast version has a live load capacity of 13,000 pounds and spans 120 feet, the company says.
The product uses standard 230-volt, three-phase power.
"At the heart of the design of this system is a unique, controlled-descent-failsafe feature to ensure worker safety," said Baumgartner. "... SafRise can safely lower the platform to the ground, even without power."
This "overspeed" safety feature allows SafRise to recognize if its descent is too fast, slowing it down while continuing to descend, the company says.
