Golfing and God

Father Kevin woke up one beautiful Sunday and decided that he just had to play golf. He called in sick to the associate pastor, then headed out of town to a course about 40 miles away so he wouldn’t run into anyone he knew.

Setting up on the first tee, he was alone.

Looking down from heaven, St. Peter turned to the Lord and said, “Are you going to let him get away with this?”

Just then, Father Kevin swung and hit the ball straight toward the pin. It dropped and rolled neatly in … a 420-yard hole in one!

St. Peter was astonished. “Why did you let him do that?” he asked the Lord.

The Lord smiled and replied, “Who’s he going to tell?”
