Colonna’s Shipyard is hiring for multiple trades/positions. Due to an increase in workload we are looking for the following:
1st CLASS PIPEFITTER- 5 or more years’ experience in Military shipyard repair work. All candidates must be willing and able to work on Government and commercial vessels, able to read blueprints and tack weld; Brazing certs are a plus. Travel may be required for certain jobs.
WELDERS (2nd shift) must be able to pass a FCAW weld test. Qualified applicants will have at least 5 years of experience. Prefer applicants that have a heavy industrial steel background. Must be able to pass a background due to working at various yards.
PROJECT MANAGER Steel America is looking for an experienced Project Manager. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Interpersonal and communication skills, work effectively, possess significant knowledge of project management, people management, and conflict resolution. Applicants also must have understanding of functional organizational operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, systems engineering, and quality systems. A background in Fabrication/Industrial is preferred.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Steel America is seeking an experienced full time direct sales person to solicit the power industry within a primary geographic area of the east coast from PA to GA. It is expected that this individual have a proven track record in an industrial sales capacity soliciting to power generating stations and to engineering firms that support utility projects from planned outages to new construction and expansion. Responsibilities will include lead generation and contracting of qualified project opportunity that is consistent with the prescribed capabilities of Steel America. Customer interface and relevant trade show attendance is required; professional development is encouraged.
ESTIMATING/CONTRACTS MANAGER Candidate must have experience in Contract Administration and Management and knowledge of FAR, DFAR and FFP & T&M contracts. Possess a thorough understanding and a minimum of 7 plus years’ experience in the manufacturing process, materials, and costing methods for heavy steel fabrication. Must have working knowledge of AWS, AISC, ABS, and ASME code/certification requirements. Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and AutoCAD preferred.
DIRECTOR OF FABRICATION Steel America is looking for an experienced Director of Fabrication. All applicants must have 15 or more year’ heavy steel plate fabrication experience. Must have extensive knowledge in welding, fitting, burning processes, piping, electrical, mechanical and coatings (marine and structural) processes. Must be able to read and understand contract & shop drawings and have competency with all fabrication equipment and processes. Knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC, ASME code/certification requirements, NAVSEA specifications, SSPC painting requirements. Knowledge of Exceptional computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Project computer skills preferred. Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a high degree of business ethics.
