Field Technician Description: Willbros Engineers-Upstream is looking for multiple Field Technicans to join its Integrity Field Services team. An incumbant will work with experienced engineers and specialists on consulting projects and develop the skills needed to manage engineering tasks and projects while in the field. Incumbant will multitask in a fast paced environment with limited supervision. Mentoring is provided to help technicians quickly learn and master new skills. Level 2 Technicians will provide guidance and direction to junior Technicians and will be required to obtain industry certifications (company sponsored) to further their development within the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Successful incumbent will assist experienced engineers/specialists with project execution and will initially work with project managers and will follow existing analysis procedures related to specialized field work, working with pipeline inspection data in spreadsheet format. As experience is gained, he/she will become familiar with pipeline technologies such as, but not be limited to:

Pipeline and facility external corrosion control.
Facilities and pipelines cathodic protection design.
External corrosion field surveys, cathodic protection monitoring and troubleshooting.
Pipeline Coatings, and pipeline coating inspection.
Pipeline HVAC induced interference.
In-line inspection hardware and software.
Data collection, management, alignment, and integration.
Degradation mechanisms and their control.
Repair technologies.
Risk management.

This position will require interactions with clients and prospective clients out in the field and field management of survey crews. Within a relatively short period (1 to 2 years), incumbent will conduct tasks without supervision as part of a larger projects. Eventually, he/she will conduct and/or manage larger projects, developing expertise in one or more technical areas related to pipeline integrity. Interaction with other departments locally and globally is expected when needed. Level 2 Technicians will provide guidance and direction to junior Technicians. Programming macros is occasionally required. Knowledge of Excel Visual Basic is beneficial. Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience in corrosion control, protective coatings and cathodic protection. monitoring is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
Experience with finite element software packages is a plus.
NACE Cathodic Protection Level 2 Certification highly desirable for Technician 2.
Ability to handle field survey equipment, troubleshooting, good writing and record keeping skills are required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
Must be self-motivated, and be able to work independently.
Experience with non-destructive testing is a plus.
Ability to work in a safety oriented and high stress outdoor environment required.
Strong English speaking and writing skills are required.
Willingness to travel. Travel assignments can be from several days to several weeks (work at client ’s work site).

Professional Experience: Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, or Other Requirements:

NACE or ASNT certification highly desired. NACE CP 2 highly desired for Technician 2.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Position requires excellent technical skills in one or more of the following areas:

Cathotic Protection Design.
External Corrosion Pipeline Surveys.
Materials Engineering (familiarity with carbon steels is a plus).
Non Destructive Testing or a related area.
Good writing skills.
Experience or familiarity with transmission pipelines or pressure vessel technologies is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.
