The Training Products and Services Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of quality training services to new and existing clients and employees. The incumbent is responsible for pro-actively working to enlarge the Training client base, improving the quality of existing training products both classroom and online.

Specific Responsibilities

A. Establish and implement a departmental business plan by:
• Preparing a 3 year department strategic plan and implementing annual plans of action/Traction Plans based on SMART objectives
• Establishing the annual department budget (revenue, gross margin, IDE and OPI)
• Monitoring monthly income statements and preparing the monthly variance report
• Ensuring the profitability of the department
• Providing a two-month forward revenue projections vs. budget
• Participating in monthly 1:1 meetings with supervisor and quarterly business unit department meetings

B. Establish and implement a Training Marketing/Business Development plan by:
• Preparing and issuing the annual training brochure for KTA Coatings and EH&S training classes
• Developing business for the service offering by analyzing demographics of past course participants and actively promoting course offerings and by working with the Corporate Business Development Manager to explore training service opportunities
• Responding to all e-mail and telephone inquires related to training services
• Issuing proposals for training services
• Updating and maintaining the training services web page on kta.com
• Investigating trade association involvement (e.g., coatings associations involved with education, IACET, other) and/or preparing abstracts for articles in technical publications.

C. Coordinate all aspects of both internal and external training programs by:
• Maintaining an effective Learning Management System (LMS)
• Managing and coordinating all aspects of open registration courses
• Delivering training modules/workshops
• Developing and refining the instruction staff (and presentation skills of non-instructors) through the implementation and maintenance of an ongoing train-the-trainer program
• Challenging traditional methods of instruction and implement newer, more effective methods of teaching adults
• Managing the development of new KTA course offerings
• Coordinating with SSPC for C3 and C5 Licensing and course offerings
• Maintaining KTA’s IACET Accreditation and OQ/NCCER certification.
• Applying the latest teaching techniques and finding new ways to engage, question and evaluate course feedback to improve overall training

D. Develop, implement and improve existing internal training curriculum that aligns with the company’s strategic plan and key strategies by:
• Understanding the company culture, values and 3 year Strategic Plan, as well as Key Strategies, Group Strategic Plans and associated Plans of Action/Traction Plans
• Developing and maintaining training programs reflected in the company talent management matrix, and the quality management and performance management systems
• Developing, administering, and maintaining annual technical and safety training for technical and inspection personnel
• Maintaining training records, qualification records and promissory notes (when applicable) for all training

E. Investigate, Implement and Maintain Training Programs and Equipment by:
• Administering the GoToWebinar and GoToMeeting programs to the fullest potential for the company.
• Working with IT staff to make training programs accessible to employees using available computer resources via the LMS.
• Maintaining, operating and instructing (on proper use of) SmartBoard technology

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field is required
• Master’s Degree in Education desirable but not required
• Effective business development skills and experience required
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and 3-5 years of experience with development of behavioral learning outcomes and training curricula development experience required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Public speaking/presentation experience required

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
• Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
• Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint
• Use of Articulate and Camtasia software programs desirable
• Knowledge of Cornerstone Learning Management System required
• Ability to proactively grow the training business
• Business management skills
• Personable/approachable for training skill development of others
