JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for the processing of Parts and Engineered Systems within the Industrial Coating Systems group from design to ensuring customer satisfaction. Individual works with a cross-functional team to deliver product that will meet the customer’s requirements in terms of quality, delivery, start up and performance while achieving expected profitability for the business.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide technical support to turning, milling, grinding, deburring, machining, assembly, tool making
• Select, qualify, and implement capital equipment
• Review manufacturability of new products
• Provide technical expertise, support, and resources during multiple shifts
• Support manufacturing and assembly departments in meeting on-time delivery performance
• Responsible for quality and design changes in manufacturing
• Investigate, develop, and evaluate new manufacturing methods, processes, and techniques in an effort to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, and quality
• Ensure parts and engineered systems meet customer specifications
• Standardize processes and develop technology to improve performance
• Utilize Lean and Six Sigma processes to promote continuous improvement within the team and ICS
• Support Operations Manager in strategic deployment and execution of group’s goals
• Manage staff and help them develop their skills and abilities for individuals and team effectiveness
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce company policies
• Investigate, recommend, and implement cost savings projects
• Audit and enhance cell and floor layout which will result in improved shop floor performance by reducing inefficiencies and improving productivity
• Assess current processes to eliminate all non-value added activities and eradicate waste
