Purpose: The Pipeline Corrosion Engineer/Specialist is the subject matter expert and process owner providing technical support for all levels of the Williams organization. This individual provides technical leadership and expertise in the application of corrosion control processes through material selection, design, installation, monitoring, and maintenance of cathodic protection equipment and monitoring of buried pipeline and plant piping while utilizing diverse and technologically up to date surveys, techniques and methods. These activities are key to the integrity and reliability of an asset base that is both diverse and complex in design, operating temperatures, locations, facility ages and locations ranging from offshore deepwater to onshore desert operating environments in the US and Canada. Key Activities: -Lead the corrosion control process team: - Promoting a sense of community, professional development, and continuous improvement in the corrosion area.
- Mentoring corrosion technicians, help develop their skills, identify and suggest needed training, and provide feedback to supervisors on technician’s technical skill set.
- Direct liaison among field based corrosion technicians, the Pipeline Integrity group and American Innovations, providing assistance as needed for everyday issues and special projects.
- Review annual plans and budgets for corrosion control, provide input and technical opinions, and advise management regarding the plans and budgets.
-Prepare complex corrosion control plans for assets with difficult corrosion control issues including AC mitigation. -Lead continual development, maintenance, and implementation of Company external corrosion control standards through technical reviews, updates, and staying abreast of new technology. -Oversee the PCS database, assuring data is accurate and in compliance with regulations and company standards, including maintenance of corrosion control metrics. Qualifications: -Associates of Science with 8 years of corrosion control experience or technical degree with 4 years corrosion control experience -Advanced Pipeline Corrosion Control Credentials including NACE certified CP Level 3 (CP Technologist) or Senior Corrosion Technologist -High Proficiency using and maintaining PCS in a multiuser environment. -Being able to influence without formal authority - good communication and networking skills, ease in interactions with multiple layers of leaders and individual contributors, ability to make persuasive arguments on complex topics such that those without corrosion technology backgrounds can understand and relate to the logic being offered. -Previous experience in a technical leadership position is desired -Proficiency in Internal Corrosion Control would be a plus Williams Corporations will pay relocation for this position. ***This position will be filled at the posted level and within the salary range if commensurate to the experience (i.e., skills, abilities & knowledge) of successful candidate; however if unable to be filled at this level, the position may be filled with a respective competitive market based on the experience of the selected candidate***
