I believe in todays market, informing the owners inorder to ensure compliance with QP certification procedure compliance and "Good Painting practice " the majority of the specifications we run across are NOT sit specific are mostly cut and paste and basically clueless in regards to Lead Abatement procedures, containment, I believe it is VERY important based on what Really goes on in the field that OWNERS rely on 3rd party inspectors with REAL knowledge and experiance in these areas with the exception of NY 806 union Hall the over all majority of these union halls are sending guys to jobs with little to no training in Industerial coating application and Lead abatement training they want these projects to require them But offer there people Nothing in return and Yes I speek from personal knowledge and experiance,Boston MA I was shocked at the amount of JOURNEYMAN that had the Title but lacked the ability to know the differance in Vapor or particulate cartidges for resperators,I personally found a young man who didnt even know his respirator didnt have a diaphram after he asked me why "CHUNKS" are getting through his filters.....NO JOKE.... So I strongly feel it is VERY IMPORTANT to have a 3rd party inspector there inorder to ensure the TAX payers money is not being waisted on poorly written specifications that alot of owners just dont realise they have, because we all know the QP certified contractor certainly is NOT going to educate him if they can get over they will, OWNERS reading this not all QP contractors will cut corners on your project, but can you be sure the LOW bidder you have wont ?????? How much Grit and RED paint chips will be falling in your creeks and rivers when your not looking ????????
