In reading this article, I did not see a description of how the test panel surfaces were prepared before the coatings were applied. Could incomplete or inadequate preparation be the cause of the "unexpected premature failures" that resulted in the test being terminated? If this is not the cause, has any other reason been determined? Were the test panels placed outside to weather in natural surroundings?
