I’d like to see an article similar to this but pertaining to UHPWJ. With Water Jetting, the amount of rust back is specified but no less difficult to agree upon. The variances in degree of rust back from one area to the next can render a whole shifts work unacceptable for coatings.

The article is highly beneficial. It may be worth to watch a video of actual work being carried out and final results on coating after few year of exposure

I’m finalizing a Coating Theory Course and find that article is an excellent summation of all that I’ve covered in the course. I had to stop and share the original field "salt" test with my co-workers. Sometimes humor does help with the frustration level. I plan to share this article with the students.

I do not see mention of useing gelled acids as an alternative to blasting. It is a good alternative.

Good article about surface prep, and the possible areas of disagreement. This is why pre-job conferences and meetings with QC are VERY important. I would have liked to see something on testing recycled abrasives... but that's just my current bone of contention.
