Investigating Corrosion Protection of Offshore Wind Towers, Part 3: Results of the Laboratory Investigations

In Part 3 of a three-part series, the authors report on corrosive stress on offshore wind towers. Laboratory investigations of several coatings for wind towers are discussed and compared with site testing of the same coatings.

Test Method for the Estimation of the IMO PSPC "Walk-On Time" for Ballast Tank Coatings

The author reports on a laboratory study intended to devise an appropriate test method to determine the walk-on time for several ballast tank coatings. The study came in response to the International Maritime Organization's new Performance Standard for Protective Coatings for Dedicated Seawater Ballast Tanks, which now requires walk-on times to be included in job specifications.
